During the Strip on the Strip 5K, runners shed more than just calories. After every kilometer, participants mark the accomplishment by taking off and donating a new piece of clothing to benefit the Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s Veterans Integration program. Workforce clothing is particularly useful for veterans, so event organizers recommend donating items such as suit jackets, dress shirts or blouses, and shoes. After the race, each participant receives a finisher medal and t-shirt, plus extra awards for the top finishers in each age group.
