During the month of October, Opportunity Village reveals its spookier side during HallOVeen at the Magical Forest. Visitors decked out in their most ghoulish getups can peruse the frightening-yet-festive decorations around the site. There are several new attractions and rides for the 2018 season. Activities include Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, the Avalanche Slide, the Forest Express Passenger Train, Rod’s Monstrous Mini Golf and a Blizzard Mini-Coaster! There are also treat stations located throughout the Magical Forest and a variety of Halloween-themed activities.

Opportunity Village, founded by seven families in 1954, is a not-for-profit that seeks to improve the lives of those with significant intellectual disabilities and their families. As Nevada’s largest employer of people with disabilities, Opportunity Village provides vocational training, employment, habilitation, and social recreation programs for nearly 2,000 individuals annually. These individuals, who were previously considered unemployable, work at Opportunity Village’s Employment Resource Centers as well as in jobs throughout the community, collectively earning more than $3.9 million in wages in 2014.
