Lyft and Uber is the best thing to come to Las Vegas since the introduction of the myVEGAS. You can travel around Las Vegas for FREE or at a Heavily Discounted rate, sitting in newer, pleasant smelling cars, getting excellent service, all with the drivers held fully accountable! Take Lyft or Uber once, and you will never take a Taxi ride in Las Vegas again! This guide is to show you how simple these apps are to use and explain how to maximize your free and discounted travel with Lyft and Uber promo codes.
So why take Lyft and Uber instead of Taxi’s?
- Save-Money: Lyft and Uber are up 30% cheaper than traditional taxi’s.
- No Long-Hauling: Never worried about getting long-hauled and ripped off in Las Vegas again. Because every Lyft/Uber trip is tracked, and every driver is held accountable, you will never get ripped off. - Cashless & Convenient: You don’t need cash. The fare is automatically charged to your credit card on file.
- One Tap to Ride: Lyft/Uber uses your phone’s GPS to detect your location and connects with the nearest available driver. Get picked up anywhere – usually within minutes.
- Reliable & On-Tme Pick-ups: When you request a ride, they’ll located a driver and let you track their location on the map. Your driver’s name, car details and ratings will appear in the app.
- Clear Pricing: Can enter your pick-up and drop-off locations in your app to get a fare estimate before your trip.

HOW TO RIDE-SHARE FROM LAS VEGAS MCCARRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
There are 2 ride-share pickup areas depending on if you’re in Terminal 1 or Terminal 3.
Pick-up from Terminal 1:
The ride-share area is located at the Parking Garage area located on level 2M. Follow the signs to the parking garage. If you’re lost, from Baggage Claim, take the elevator near door #2 up to level 2, then cross the pedestrian bridge on level 2 to the Terminal 1 Parking Garage. From there, take the elevator up to level 2M. Just continue on the walkway and follow the signs, and the pick up area will be on your left.
Pick-up from Terminal 3:
The ride-share area is on the valet level of the Parking Garage. From Baggage Claim, take the elevator near door #52, #54 or #56 up to level 1, cross the pedestrian bridge on level 1 to the Terminal 3 Parking Garage. From there, use the elevators or stairs to go down 1 floor to the Valet level. From there, just follow the signs and the pick up area will just be across the road.
A few tips for your first ride:
- Don’t arrange your Lyft/Uber pickup too early, sometimes the drivers are already there. I suggest waiting until you get to the first set of elevators.
- Many of these drivers are new, and it’s very confusing to drive around McCarran Airport so be patient in case they get lost.
- You are getting a free or heavily discounted ride, and Las Vegas is a tipping city, a tip of $2-3 is always appreciated but not required. However, you tip for Taxi’s, you should definitely tip for Ride-Shares! Lyft allows tipping from the app if you decide you rather go that route.
HOW TO RIDE-SHARE FROM LAS VEGAS HOTELS:
Each Las Vegas hotel has their own designated Ride-Share pick up area. Some are easy to spot and some are a little harder to find. It will show you on the app where the pickup location is, but if unsure, ask hotel staff where the ride-share locations are to prevent any confusion and delay.
SO WHICH APP DO I USE TO SAVE THE MOST MONEY?
Each app gives you different promo codes. The Lyft promo code FREEVEGASLYFT will give you $5 off each ride, up to 10 rides, and the Uber promo code UBERVEGAS30 will give you a flat $15 ride credit. Since going from Las Vegas Airport to the Las Vegas Strip usually costs about $15-20, depending on where you’re staying, use Uber to and from the airport to save the most money. While on the Las Vegas Strip, rides up and down usually cost $5-12, again depending on the locations, so using Lyft for this is the way to go, since you can use it multiple times.
ADVANCED MONEY-SAVING TIPS!
After downloading the apps, you get the ability to refer your friends and family. Just click on the “Free Rides” on either app and you’ll see your own unique promo code. If you’re traveling with other people, refer them with your unique code, and they will get the same credits mentioned above, and after they take their first ride, you will receive a free ride credit as well. Lyft will give you a $25 credit and Uber will give you a $15 credit.
Hopefully, after reading this, Ride-Share actually makes sense to you. If you do it properly, you should be able to save anywhere from $50-150+ on your transportation costs, and learn to appreciate what Lyft and Uber can deliver! If there’s anything that needs clarification or if any questions, please comment and I’ll try to respond as soon as possible.
