Canadian Travel Hacking: Best Value for your FREE 30,000 Aeroplan Points

aeroplan

If you haven’t already received your free 30,000 Aeroplan points, please click here to read about it and get your points now and learn how to earn infinitely more.  It’s our all-time most popular posts and by far, the best Free offer available.   I’ve already taken a round-trip business class flight to Asia back in March with the points I’ve earned.  Unfortunately, this deal is only available for Canadians.

So now that you’ve received your 30,000 Aeroplan points, what do you do with it?  You could get a gift card for gas, or a pretty nice toaster.  You could just fly to some random place in North America, maybe hit up Las Vegas, or visit family across the country, but that would be a complete waste.  Here’s how to get the best value for your 30,000 Aeroplan points.

1) Business Class in Asia(not to Asia, u wish)

If you look at the Aeroplan rewards chart, you’ll notice that it only takes 30,000 Aeroplan points to fly business class in the Asia 1 zone.  The best part of this deal is that the entire Asia 1 zone, regardless of the distance, is only 30,000 points.  If you’ve ever flown business class in Asia, you’ll know that it’s a whole new level from our domestic business class flights.  You’re looking at full lie flat seats with some airlines, Dom Perignon that goes for $200+/bottle for others.  And with my favorite, Singapore Air, you can get lobster or sablefish as your main course.

To give you an example of the monetary value of this flight, let’s look at something common, like Hong Kong to Singapore.  Looking at some arbitrary dates during peak season, December 18th to December 28th(which is currently available to book on Aeroplan), the total price on Expedia is a whopping $3,361.85.  I did this on my last Asia trip, and it’s something that i highly recommend.  It’s an experience in luxury that you couldn’t even imagine.  Other popular cities you may consider would include Tokyo, Tapei, Bangkok, Shanghai, etc.

2) Free Stop-Overs in North America

A nice little fact about Aeroplan that most people don’t know is that you’re permitted a stop-over absolutely free.  What this means is that as long as your city is within routing rules(usually just on the way or close to destination city), you can stop there for free, and this can be done for just a measly 25,000 Aeroplan points.

For example, you can do a route from YVR(Vancouver) -> YYZ(Toronto) -> YUL(Montreal) -> YVR.  Again, picking arbitrary dates, this time during non-peak dates, Feb. 2-> Feb. 7 -> Feb 12, the total price for this flight would be $907.  Not quite as good as Asian business class, but you still get your monies worth with 5000 points to spare.

Of course there are other ways to use your 30,000 points, such as saving money on overpriced last minute flights, or flying to those random destinations that are always expensive, but these 2 will generate the greatest value for your Aeroplan points.  So don’t delay, if you haven’t already, get your free 30,000 Aeroplan points today!
