Onstage, 6’7″ burlesque dancer Amazon Ashley performs alongside a little-person Miley Cyrus impersonator. Later, an 8-year-old DJ spins tunes, and a cover band pays tribute to pop and rock acts using only Auto-Tune. Oh, and there’s a live goat trotting around the venue, too. This is Beacher’s Madhouse and, as its name implies, things only get stranger from there. The hyperactive brainchild of showman Jeff Beacher, the variety show aims to continually surprise its audiences with off-the-wall acts that fling themselves to every corner of the provocative-hilarious-bizarre Venn diagram.

Even the act of getting to your seat sounds like an outtake from a particularly unusual Scooby-Doo mystery—a bookcase swings open on a wall in the MGM Grand, revealing a passage that funnels showgoers deeper into the complex. They emerge in a 1920s-style cabaret, decked out in gleaming leather furniture, glittering chandeliers, and a life-sized elephant statue reclining against the back wall.
